We grow peace between peoples.
To resolve identity-based conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa — whether among monotheistic faiths, rival sects, competing ideologies, or opposing national movements — it is essential to build public support for reconciliation. Where diverse populations join in calling for compromise and partnership, states enjoy the latitude to negotiate settlements and new civil relations become possible. Without such support, a culture of intransigence and exclusion blocks diplomatic progress and stymies civil society.
The region’s media, schools, and houses of worship share the opportunity and responsibility to foster a culture of peacemaking. The Center for Peace Communications, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, strives to support efforts within these institutions to do so.

Education
Convene professional seminars with the region’s teachers, media workers, and religious leaders, aiming to strengthen their role as peace promoters vis a vis their audiences.
Advocacy
Brief government, business, and civic actors about specific opportunities to promote positive change in public discourse through their work.
Communication
Provide multilingual communications support to grassroots voices and nongovernment organizations striving to serve as bridge-builders within the region.
Counter-Disinformation
Formulate new strategies to challenge propaganda activity by the region’s violent extremists.
Joint Research
Commission, conduct, and publish joint research and studies that inform or complement the above efforts.
